The Ministry of Defense has agreed to transform import company limited into according to the agreement of Ministry of Defense No. 862/MoD, dated 31 January 2020 on the establishment of SAO MANGKON DEVELOPMENT STATE COMPANY. On 19 January 2021, SAO MANGKON DEVELOPMENT STATE COMPANY was established according to the registration certificate No. 0096/ERA, dated 19 January 2021, with an initial registered capital of 14, 731, 709, 880 LAK
In the past,the company has collaborated with both domestic and foreign investment companies in the mining sector and other industries. This has contributed to generating income and supporting economic and social development,as well as national defense and public security works. SAO MANGKON DEVELOPMENT STATE COMPANY continues to provide social assistance,develop basic infrastructure,support education and culture,and improve living conditions for people living in challenging areas

Under the investment promotion policy for economic development and promotion according to the national agenda of the government of the Lao PDR and under the guidance- leadership of the Ministry of Defense, Sao Mangkone Development State Company was officially established on January 19, 2021 which is an enterprise under Ministry of Defense with direct comprehensive supervision from Ministry of Defense to operate business according to the market economic mechanism and ensure effectiveness on the basis of the principle of self-sufficiency in term of calculating-balancing to secure profits in accordance with laws and regulations.
Our company has a management team and technical staff equipped with knowledge, competencies, and high experience in practical operation for various sectors with vision and operation plans which can be fit with all situations and be able to respond according to the government's intentions, especially the Ministry of Defense.
We strongly believe that our business operations can achieve according to the determined plans and goals to become a frontline company of the army, can be self-supporting and self-reliant on the basis of the principle of calculating-balancing to secure profits in accordance with laws and regulations, and contributes to generating revenue for national economic-social development and national defense mandate of the Ministry of Defense.
Amidst variations of regional and international situations, which continue to fluctuate complicatedly, the global economic situation tends to decrease in growth due to the effects of the financial-economic crisis, which includes the hardship in political, social-economic, and natural environment aspects. Lao PDR is also one of the countries affected by such incidents which has caused inflation and unstable economic growth. For this reason, investment from domestic and foreign countries is considered as necessary.
